The Refugee Camp with Millions of Impoverished Refugees
For some reason I can’t embed the 14-minute segment on YouTube titled “Johan Norberg – Free or Equal – Free to Choose 30 years.”
Students should be able to view it at the link. Near the beginning Norberg refers to Hong Kong in the 1950s and 1960s as a refugee camp with millions of impoverished refugees.
For students researching the U.S./Middle East topic, why not research policies toward Middle East refugees that would secure them the economic freedom enjoyed by Chinese refugees in Hong Kong?
Here is a 5-minute introduction to Free or Equal.
[January 15, 2015 update: Since last fall, the full Free or Equal documentary has been available for streaming here from FreetoChoose.tv.
