Liberalism*, Values and Lincoln-Douglas Debate
For many years through the mid-1980s to 1990s we distributed a monthly publication to high school speech and debate teachers nationwide. Originally called the LD/Extemp Monthy, it was renamed Econ’87, then Econ Update.
Each issue featured articles on current events for students in Extemporaneous Speaking, and on Lincoln-Douglas (LD) debate whose resolutions changed every two months through the school year.
Liberalism, Values and Lincoln-Douglas Debate is a collection of articles on LD/value resolutions over those years. (Also, Mr. Waddell uploaded the pdf to his website here.)
As I moved with the high school debate program between education nonprofits–Institute for Humane Studies to Foundation for Economic Education (FEE) to Reason Foundation to Free Enterprise Institute, then back to FEE again, I continued efforts to focus and communicate classical liberal analysis of Lincoln-Douglas resolutions for students and teachers researching, coaching, and debating these important topics. — Greg Rehmke
*Liberalism in the title is used in the past and European meaning as Classical Liberalism.
